The Mayan Calendar
Will the world end in 2012? No, it won’t.
Will there be a major cataclysm in 2012? Quite possibly.
Although this book concentrates on a potential global catastrophe at a random date within our immediate future, the ancient Mayan Long Count calendar is a powerful argument for that date being Dec 21, 2012.
The Maya
The Maya civilisation inhabited a region encompassing southern Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Belize & western Honduras, and flourished between the third and tenth centuries AD, but by 1200 AD their society had collapsed for reasons we can only guess at. When the Spanish conquistadors arrived, descendants still occupied the area, and still spoke the Mayan language, but were unaware of the cities their forefathers had created.
It wasn’t until the late 18th century that explorers first investigated the dense Guatemalan rainforest and came across plazas, monoliths, temples and pyramids, each decorated with pictures and hieroglyphs. The ancient Maya had been keeping historical records – using a script which mixed ideographic and phonetic elements. Some of their writing still exists on stelae (stone monuments) that recount civil events and record their calendric and astronomical knowledge.
Spanish Conquest
Diego de Landa was a Spanish priest who visited Mexico on a charitable mission, became the Franciscan provincial of Yucatán in 1561 and is infamous for his destruction of priceless Maya documents and artefacts.
Although Landa was very interested in the Mayan culture, he abhorred certain aspects of their practices, particularly human sacrifice. In July 1562, when evidence of human sacrifice was found in a cave containing sacred Maya statues, a bout of religious self-righteousness saw Landa order the destruction of five thousand idols. He decided that their books were also the devil’s work and saw to it that they were burned, with only three books surviving. Consequently the majority of Mayan knowledge and history was lost.
Yet despite his actions, we are also indebted to Landa for his acute and intelligent opus on Mayan life and religion, Relación de las cosas de Yucatán (1566), which remains the classical text on Mayan civilisation. This book, which was not printed until 1864, provided a phonetic alphabet that made it possible to decipher roughly one-third of the remaining Mayan hieroglyphs.
The most important of the surviving books was what is now called the Dresden Codex, named after the city where it was lodged. It is a strange book, inscribed with hieroglyphs, which no one understood until 1880. At that time Ernst FØrstemann, a German scholar who worked at the same Dresden library, managed to crack the code of the Mayan calendar making it possible for other academics to translate the many dated inscriptions found on buildings, stelae and other ancient Mayan artefacts.
He discovered that the Codex contained detailed astrological tables, which calculated the year to be 365.2420 days long, more accurate than the Julian calendar that we use today. The tables were used exclusively by the Mayan astronomers to predict the solstices and equinoxes, the path of the planets in our solar system, the cycles of Venus and Mars, and other celestial phenomena.
Other information we have today has been gleaned from the Popol Vuh and Chilam Balam – books written just after the Spanish arrived. The knowledge found in these books and codices, combined with the uncovering of mysterious pyramids, demonstrate that the Maya had knowledge to rival the Greeks and Egyptians.
Mayan Calendar
The life of the Maya revolved around the concept of time. Priests were consulted on civil, agricultural and religious matters, and their advice would be derived from readings of the sacred calendars. Time was of such importance that children were even named after the date on which they were born.
Maya math uses only three symbols – a shell-shaped glyph for zero, a dot for one and a bar for five to represent units from zero to 19. For instance, the number 13 was represented as three dots and two bars.
Zero was an advanced concept in those days, something that the Romans were not aware of. Yet the Maya were comfortable enough with it to use a shell as its symbol, a tangible object representing an abstract concept. The Maya also used metrical calculation and place numeration, which were very clever for a culture that didn’t use the wheel!
Although they had many calendars, they marked the passage of time with three cycles that ran in parallel.
The first is the scared calendar known as the Tzolkin. It combines the numbers from 1 through 13 with a sequence of 20 day-names. It works in a similar manner to our named days of the week, and their date within each month. So you might have 5-Chikchan (like our Sunday the 5th) followed by 6-Kimi (as we would have Monday the 6th). After 260 days the same number/name combination will re-occur, and the calendar starts anew. Their use of the vigesimal (base 20) numbering system probably relates to fingers and toes, whereas the 13 nicely fits the growth phase of the moon which isn’t visible when new and appears full for two days on end, thus appearing to have a 13 day growth cycle. Alternatively, the length of the Tzolkin may be related to the human gestation period of nine months (273 days). It has been suggested that 260 days is the time between a woman suspecting her pregnancy (she doesn’t menstruate) and when she gives birth.
The second is the agricultural calendar known as the Haab, or vague year. It consists of 18 months, each of 20 days. An addition of a five-day month (a period of apprehension and bad luck named Uayeb) gives us 365 days, an approximation of a year. This calendar’s primary purpose was to keep track of the seasons, for seasonal and solar events would occur on roughly the same day of each year. The Maya were aware of the annual quarter day discrepancy, but it is not known if they ever did anything about it.
These two independently running calendars each begin again every 260 and 360+5 days. However, every 52 years they coincide:
“The Tzolkin and the Haab ran concurrently, like intermeshed cog-wheels, and to return to any given date, 52 years, or 18,980 days, would have to elapse (because both 365 x 52 and 260 x 73 = 18,980). In other words, the Tzolkin would make 73 revolutions and the Haab 52, so that every 52 calendar years of 365 days one would return to the same date. A complete date in this 52-year cycle might be, for example, 2 1k 0 Pop (2 1k being the position of the day in the Tzolkin, 0 Pop the position in the Haab). Fifty-two years would pass before another 2 1k 0 Pop date returned.
It was expected that the world would end at the completion of a 52-year cycle. At this time, among the Mexica in the Valley of Mexico, all fires were extinguished, pregnant women were locked up lest they be turned into wild animals, children were pinched to keep them awake so that they would not turn into mice, and all pottery was broken in preparation for the end of the world. In the event the gods decided to grant man another 52 years of life on earth, however, a night time ceremony was held in which the populace followed the priests through the darkness over a causeway to the top of an old extinct volcano that rises abruptly from the floor of the basin of Mexico, known today as the Hill of the Star, the hill above Ixtapalapa. There, with all eyes on the stars, they awaited the passage of the Pleiades across the center of the heavens, which would announce the continuation of the world for another 52 years. When the precise moment came, a victim was quickly sacrificed by making a single gash in his chest and extracting the still palpitating heart. In the gory cavity the priests, with a fire drill, kindled a new flame that was quickly carried by torches across the lake to the temple in Tenochititlan, and from there to all temples and villages around the lake. This was known as the New Fire Ceremony among the Mexica, and in some way this same completion and renewal of each 52-year cycle was recognized by all Mesoamericans.”
This is not unlike how the end of the last millennium may have felt for many Christians or doomsday cult followers.
Our modern Western calendar was first introduced in Europe in 1582. It was based upon the Gregorian calendar, which calculated the Earth’s orbit to take 365.25 days. This was 0.0003 of a day per year too much, but still exceptionally accurate for scientists living over 400 years ago.
The Mayan calendars were derived from those of their predecessors, the Olmec, whose culture dates back at least 3,000 years. Without the instruments of 16th century Europe, these Central American locals managed to calculate a solar year of 365.2420 days, just 0.0002 of a day short. More accurate than the Europeans, and much earlier. It is not known if the Olmecs created the Long Count calendar, or if they received it from an even earlier civilisation…
The Long Count
A Mayan date utilises three calendars. The third calendar, known as the “long count”, is a continuous record of days that starts over every 5000 years or so. The current Long Count began in 3114 BC. And it will end very soon.
A typical Mayan date looks like this:
12.18.16.2.6, 3 Cimi 4 Zotz
4 Zotz is the Haab date.
3 Cimi is the Tzolkin date.
12.18.16.2.6 is the Long Count date.
The basic unit is the kin (day), which is the last component of the Long Count. Going from right to left the remaining components are:
- unial……..1 unial = 20 kin = 20 days
- tun……….1 tun = 18 unial = 360 days = approx. 1 year
- katun…….1 katun = 20 tun = 7,200 days = approx. 20 years
- baktun…..1 baktun = 20 katun = 144,000 days = approx. 394 years
The kin, tun, and katun are numbered from 0 to 19.
The unial are numbered from 0 to 17.
The baktun are numbered from 1 to 13.
The Long Count is a great cycle of 13 baktuns (roughly 5,126 years), where the use of 13 may again represent the growth of the moon from new to full. The current cycle began on 13.0.0.0.0 4 Ahau 8 Cumku which correlates to Aug. 13, 3114 BC.
In Mayan mythology each Long Count cycle is a world age in which the gods attempt to create pious and subservient creatures.
The First Age began with the creation of the Earth, and it had upon it vegetation and living beings. Unfortunately, because they lacked speech, the birds and animals were unable to pay homage to the gods and were destroyed. In the Second and Third Ages the gods created humans of mud and then wood, but these also failed to please and were wiped out. We are currently in the Fourth and Final Age, the age of the modern, fully functional human. Is it possible that these Ages referred to evolutionary change? If they did, then what might occur when the current age finishes on December 21, 2012?

Note on massive spans of time
Although they are not part of the Long Count, the Mayas had calculated larger time spans, some so long that only modern day scientists would ever use them, and suggesting that perhaps the ancient Maya were aware of something we have yet to discover for ourselves.
1 pictun = 20 baktun = 2,880,000 days = approx. 7885 years
1 calabtun = 20 pictun = 57,600,000 days = approx. 158,000 years
1 kinchiltun = 20 calabtun = 1,152,000,000 days = approx. 3 million years
1 alautun = 20 kinchiltun = 23,040,000,000 days = approx. 63 million years
Note on Correlation
This book uses a correlation between the Gregorian and Maya calendars known as the Goodman-Martinez-Thompson (GMT) correlation, which places the long count katun ending 11.16.0.0.0 13 Ahau 8 Xul on 14 November 1539 (Gregorian). Another less popular correlation has the Long Count ending two days later on Dec 23, 2012, and for our purposes makes a negligible difference. A further 50 or more different correlations have been calculated; some by non-academics, usually based on disputing which similar astronomical events occurred in which year. The GMT is generally accepted by academics because it has been proven with carbon dating, and because it is still in use by modern day Quich¾ Maya
Shift in Human Consciousness 2012
Shift in Human Consciousness by Sol Luckman
Source: http://alara.zaadz.com/blog/2007/10/the_shift_in_human_consciousness
Are you aware that a Shift in human consciousness is occurring even as you read these words that employs celestial triggers such as supernovas and Earth’s alignment with Galactic Center in the years leading up to 2012 to trigger the evolution of our species? This Shift has been documented in a stimulating multimedia presentation entitled “Preparing for the Shift,” by Barry and Janae Weinhold, Ph.D.s. Over decades devoted to the study of consciousness and evolution, the Weinholds, both trained psychologists, have gathered overwhelming evidence that humanity is in the middle of a long-awaited Shift in consciousness predicted in hundreds of indigenous cultures worldwide.
Today this Shift is visible nearly every time you open a newspaper or turn on the TV. It can be seen in the breakdown of many old structures such as those that underpin governments, churches and corporations, as well as in families and individuals. It is also evident in the ecological breakdown of numerous Earth systems, a widespread perception time is accelerating, drastic changes in weather patterns, more people feeling overwhelmed by modern life’s complexity, and increased polarization between groups, religions, and regions.
Fortunately, along with signs of breakdown, the Weinholds emphasize there is also considerable evidence of breakthrough: the appearance of stunningly gifted children in unprecedented numbers, the emergence of innovative and integrated healing modalities, people becoming less “religious” and more “spiritual,” and the dawning of new communities and social structures based on servant leadership and other partnership principles.
The significance of the winter solstice on December 21, 2012, according to the Mayan, Aztec, Incan and Hopi traditions, is that this date marks the close of several cycles of time. The first is the end of the 26,000-year Mayan calendar, also called a “precession” and the Annus Magnus (“Great Year”), considered by many a gestational or birth cycle for Earth. Mayan timekeepers believe that human evolution unfolds as a result of such precisely calibrated master cycles of time. They predict that Earth and humanity are about to be birthed into a new reality based on unity predicated on a dramatic advance in consciousness.
From a Mayan perspective, the Weinholds ask, “What began 26,000 years ago?” Their extensive psychohistorical research indicates this marked the beginning of humanity’s psychological individuation. In human terms, becoming “individuated” means moving from being unconsciously united with the Creator or Ground of Being, to choosing to become divided from the Creator and developing separate individual consciousness, to finally returning to the Creator as conscious, aware individuals. Once people fully individuate, it becomes possible for them to make empowered, discerning choices and use intention to co-create reality with Source–or perhaps more accurately, to create reality as Source.
The second cycle of time ending in 2012 highlighted in “Preparing for the Shift” is the close of the Galactic Year. It takes 225 million Earth years for the Milky Way Galaxy to make one complete rotation in the sky, which is believed to be a birth cycle for our galaxy. From a galactic perspective, the Weinholds ask, “What was conceived on Earth 225 million years ago?”
They point out this was when Earth’s landmass, Pangaea, began separating into what we now know as the seven continents. This process of planetary individuation not only correlates with continental drift theory; my research indicates there is also an energetic correspondence between Earth’s twelve tectonic plates responsible for continental drift and the twelve pairs of cranial nerves in the human brain, which are themselves linked to the biblical Twelve Tribes. Considered together, this evidence suggests that Earth, like humans, has undergone her own “separating out” or individuation. Based on such interconnectedness, it is also reasonable to expect that as human consciousness exponentially increases, Earth will also undergo a significant–and observable–transformation.
Astronomers studying Galactic Center report that it periodically becomes extremely active. During these episodes, it spews out fierce barrages of cosmic energy equal to thousands of supernova explosions. These outbursts are the most energetic phenomenon in the known universe. A growing number of researchers such as Sergey Smelyakov, author of a fascinating paper entitled “The Auric Time Scale and the Mayan Factor,” in addition to many indigenous peoples worldwide, theorize that as Galactic Center becomes more energized, it catalyzes human evolution through frequency emissions in the form of higher-dimensional “torsion” waves transmitted to Earth via the sun.
A comprehensive scientific model for the “Energetic Engine of Evolution” has been proposed by David Wilcock, a highly gifted psychic and speculative scientist whose theory of “Evolution as ‘Intelligent Design’” deserves summarizing. Citing the work of a vanguard of researchers, Wilcock presents a model that unites many disciplines and provides several critical missing pieces to the evolutionary puzzle. In his own words, this provocative model “suggests that humanity is on the verge of a near-spontaneous metamorphosis into a more highly evolved state of consciousness.”
Basing his analysis on the realization, embraced by more and more of today’s scientists, that Darwinian evolutionary theory is “extinct,” Wilcock observes that the “probabilities that DNA could evolve by ‘random mutation’ are so minute as to be utterly laughable–akin to the idea that if you have enough monkeys tapping away on typewriters, one of them will eventually produce a complete Shakespearean play.” Far surpassing the reach of gradual, incremental evolution, which certainly occurs as environmental adaptation, the fossil record from all over the planet makes it abundantly clear that species regularly evolve in heretofore inexplicable leaps and bounds, skipping what would seem from a Darwinian perspective to be crucial evolutionary phases. At the top of a long list of species whose evolution has baffled science is the human species.
Although for more than a century a “missing link” has been assumed to exist based on largely unchallenged Darwinian presumptions, scientists have never managed to discover it. “When we consider that the size of the brain literally doubled between that of humanity’s apparent ancestors and ourselves, with no evidence of a smooth transformation whatsoever,” writes Wilcock, “once again we see a spontaneous evolution of the creatures on Earth.” One scientist associated with National Geographic, studying the intricate bone carvings dating to 70,000 B.C.E. found at Blombos Cave in South Africa, concluded that behavioral evolution mirrors anatomical development–an important observation meaning, in Wilcock’s words, that “spontaneous evolution is not simply physiological, but consciousness-related as well. When a new bodily form has emerged, consciousness changes appear to occur.”
Moreover, as indicated by the Mayan calendar, rather than in fits and starts, such evolutionary fast-forwards of physiology and consciousness happen in organized, predictable cycles. Theorizing a “harmonic relationship” between the 26,000-year Mayan calendar and 26-million-year period between extinctions/evolutionary leaps in the fossil record, Wilcock notes that all Earth species have suddenly evolved, or metamorphosed, every 26 million years, making a strong case for “an outside energetic influence that operates in a regular, cyclic fashion.”
To answer the question what outside energetic influence is responsible for these rhythmic evolutionary revolutions, it is necessary to factor in the concept of torsion energy or universal creative consciousness. Some writers, most notably Barbara Hand Clow, have focused attention on something called the Photon Belt or Photon Band, which can be envisioned as a torsion-wave “light lattice” connecting Earth via our sun to Galactic Center that serves as a guiding data communication network for human and planetary evolution.
While some astronomers have scoffed at the notion of a Photon Band, other scientists who grasp the higher-dimensional nature of this network’s light understand that it not only exists but plays a critical role in cosmic evolution. Wilcock’s research indicates that something very much like a Photon Band most definitely exists as lines of higher-dimensional torsion radiation emanating from Galactic Center. Both Wilcock and Clow envision the Photon Band as tracing figure-eights throughout the spiraling pattern of the Milky Way Galaxy (see figure below). It appears from Dr. Nikolai Kozyrev’s research involving aether that such looping “zero point” or torsion energy based on the phi ratio (1.6180339) is, among other things, directly responsible for our cyclical experience of time.
From Book One on the Regenetics Method, Conscious Healing: The Photon Band & Black Road. It takes 225 million Earth years for the Milky Way Galaxy to make one complete rotation through the Photon Band, which is believed to be a birth cycle for our galaxy. The Black Road, a Mesoamerican phrase for a type of wormhole, can be conceptualized as simultaneously an astrophysical and genetic alignment with Galactic Center that engenders a Shift in consciousness.
Recalling the aether theories of Kozyrev, fellow Russian scientist Sergey Smelyakov’s research demonstrates that the harmonic vibrations of phi, also referred to as the Golden Mean and Fibonacci sequence, inform the very fabric of space-time. Mathematically, the Photon Band appears to be structured on phi, producing set cosmic intervals the Mayans were aware of when constructing their uncannily accurate calendar. Smelyakov’s “The Auric Time Scale and the Mayan Factor” compellingly suggests that Earth connects to Galactic Center via our solar system in a harmonic fashion he calls “Solar-planetary Synchronism,” a vibratory relationship based on the Golden Mean.
In an article entitled “The Ultimate Secret of the Mayan Calendar,” Wilcock cites Smelyakov’s research, writing that it helps explain the end of the Mayan calendar in geometric terms as an “infinitely-converging end point” in which time appears to “collapse.” This is because time as we experience it follows the imploding spirals of phi much like a finger tracing the cyclical involutions of a conch shell to its centerpoint. History, then, does not exactly repeat itself; it is more like climbing a spiral staircase.
Torsion energy spiraling as the Photon Band from the creative consciousness at the Core of our universe is Wilcock’s “Energetic Engine of Evolution.” Because of its curvilinear form, the Photon Band is composed of swaths of lesser and greater density of torsion waves manifesting as higher-dimensional light. As our solar system orbits episodically into galactic regions characterized by greater density of torsion waves (i.e., greater light or consciousness), which it is currently doing, life on our planet, including the living organism that is Earth, is intelligently stimulated to evolve in spectacular ways not only physically but also mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.
“By combining the effects of geo-cosmic change with the overall flourishing of humanity in the cultural and spiritual sense,” observes Wilcock, “we see that as the cycle continues to exponentially accelerate its energetic rate of vibration into the 2012-2013 ’singularity,’ we can expect … rapid increases in human awareness.” This centripetal cycle leads inexorably to a “discontinuous mega-event where ‘time and space collapse.’” Perhaps this transformation of our experience of time and space is the truth behind the disjointed description of the “end of days” in the Book of Revelation.
In humans, evolutionary activation occurs as torsion waves stimulate transposons or “jumping DNA” to rewrite the genetic code–a phenomenon supported by a considerable amount of scientific evidence. Bruce Lipton’s research unambiguously affirms that cells possess the ability to reprogram their own DNA, with measurable physical results such as otherwise inexplicable dietary modifications in organisms, when environmentally prompted. Dr. Lipton hypothesizes that such rewriting, which is typically beneficial, accounts for up to ninety-eight percent of evolutionary transformation.
Similarly, in a concise but excellent study entitled “Retrotransposons as Engines of Human Bodily Transformation,” biochemist Colm Kelleher addresses the subject of radical genetic adaptation or evolution as a result of what he terms a “transposition burst.” “If one were to hypothesize a transmutation of the human body,” writes Dr. Kelleher, it would be necessary to orchestrate a change, cell by cell, involving the simultaneous silencing of hundreds of genes and the activation of a different set of hundreds more. A transposition burst is a plausible mechanism at the DNA/RNA level that could accomplish such a genome wide change. Transposition bursts comprise the concerted movement of multiple mobile DNA elements from different genetic locations to new positions, sometimes on different chromosomes … Human DNA contains an abundance of the necessary genetic structures to accomplish a transposition burst involving hundreds, or even thousands, of genes.
Referencing a particular DNA sequence containing three different transposon families arranged in beadlike formation, Kelleher theorizes that owing to its tripartite configuration, this DNA sequence would be “an effective participant in large scale transposon mediated genetic change that eventually results in transformation of the human body.”
Perhaps the most undeniable evidence supporting the concept of a torsion life-wave or Photon Band of universal creative consciousness energetically directing the spontaneous formation and development of Earth species comes from Tim Harwood, who calls attention to one of nature’s more miraculous phenomena. After caterpillars form their chrysalis during metamorphosis, it is a little-known but very relevant fact that they completely dissolve into a soup of amino acids before reassembling into butterflies. This soup contains no recognizable cells or DNA as it is currently understood, but when the time is right, the torsion life-wave signals the DNA to recombine and, within a matter of days, cells emerge to create new life-forms.
Wilcock concludes that the human species, somewhat like caterpillars entering metamorphosis, is currently “being programmed by the galactic center to become more advanced while … still here in our bodies.” This is made possible because the DNA molecule is like a programmable piece of hardware … so that if you change the energy wave that moves through it, the jumping DNA will encode it into a completely different form. It is therefore possible that as we move into increasingly “intelligent” zones of energy in the galaxy, the DNA energy patterns for the creatures on the planet are all upgraded, and the mutations occur so rapidly–well within one lifetime–that no “transitional” fossils exist.
Earth’s movement through a denser area of the Photon Band directly aligned with Galactic Center began around the time of the so-called Harmonic Convergence in 1987, will enter into a historical astronomical alignment around 2012, and will be complete (from our present linear perspective) by about 2016. Over the course of the past two decades, as Wilcock and the Weinholds point out, major Earth, planetary and solar changes–from unprecedented alterations in planetary atmospheres to drastic surges in volcanic and earthquake activity–have been observed. Arguably of greatest significance from our perspective is that the sun is now moving into alignment with Galactic Center. During this transit the sun’s magnetic field has increased over 230% and there have been wildly elevated levels of sunspot activity (as reported by NASA and other space agencies) that have transmitted record-breaking waves of electromagnetic (to say nothing of torsion) energy to Earth and, thus, to us.
It is worth noting we are composed of the same substances found in the heavens, so it really is not so odd that celestial events should profoundly impact us. Harvard professor of astronomy Robert Kirshner has remarked that “supernovas created the elements we take for granted–the oxygen we breathe, the calcium in our bones, and the iron in our blood are products of the stars.” Other researchers, observing that most of DNA’s amino acids are also found in space, have hypothesized that DNA actually came from space–an increasingly popular theory known as “Panspermia.”
Fascinatingly, Fritz Albert Popp’s research in biophotons describes the dying process of cells as virtually identical to that of stars. Just before dying, cells transform into “supernovas” as the light they emit increases in intensity a thousand times before being suddenly extinguished. On a related note, and just as extraordinarily, Galactic Center, our point of origin, is located in the constellation Ophiuchus, “the serpent bearer,” an obvious reference to the spiraling, serpentine helixes of DNA. Here, in ancient symbolism, we find a direct link between the creational torsion waves emitted by Galactic Center and the DNA molecule to which, by all indications, they give rise.
The Vedics were well aware of such an “ener-genetic” connection between Galactic Center and DNA as well as of the many cycles of time ending around 2012, employing the term somvarta to describe the intelligent waves of Core energy responsible for the spontaneous evolution of species. Another ancient concept, the Golden Mean, precisely defines the mathematical relationship between “above” and “below.” The DNA molecule is minutely structured on phi or the Golden Mean, measuring 34 x 21 angstroms for each full helical spiral. Concordantly, the average mean orbit of each of the planets moving away from the sun is also a Fibonacci sequence that translates to almost exactly 1.6180339.
I Ching 2012
The date December 22, 2012 is the End of the I Ching. Ethnobotanists and fractal time experts Terrence and Dennis McKenna believe it is, and they present their ideas in Invisible Landscape: Mind Hallucinogens and the I Ching (1993).
Their studies began with the I Ching, which is composed of 64 hexagrams, or six-line figures. It struck them that 6 x 64 = 384, which is exceptionally close to the number of days in 13 lunar months (29.5306 x 13 = 383.8978), and that maybe the I Ching was originally an ancient Chinese calendar. Further multiples had astronomical significance:
1 day x 64 x 6 = 384 days = 13 lunar months
384 days x 64 = 67 years, 104.25 days = 6 minor sunspot cycles (11.2 years each)
67 years, 104.25 days x 64 = 4306+ years = 2 Zodiacal ages
4306+ years x 6 = 25836 years = 1 precession of the equinoxes
The McKenna brothers, by matching the levels of the pattern with key periods in history, they determined it would fit best if the end of the time scale was December 22, 2012. This is the only point in which the level of novelty reaches its maximum, and everything that happens is new. Change feeds upon itself like nano-machines converting every atom in the universe into gold.

Isaiah 59:7-11
59:7 Their feet rush into sin;
they are swift to shed innocent blood.
Their thoughts are evil thoughts;
ruin and destruction mark their ways.
59:8 The way of peace they do not know;
there is no justice in their paths.
They have turned them into crooked roads;
no one who walks in them will know peace.
59:9 So justice is far from us,
and righteousness does not reach us.
We look for light, but all is darkness;
for brightness, but we walk in deep shadows.
59:10 Like the blind we grope along the wall,
feeling our way like men without eyes.
At midday we stumble as if it were twilight;
among the strong, we are like the dead.
59:11 We all growl like bears;
we moan mournfully like doves.
We look for justice, but find none;
for deliverance, but it is far away.
End of Days 2012
End of Days are upon us, as the earth changes have already begun. According to St. Malachi, there is only one more Pope. He will follow our current pope, St Benedict XVI, and he will be known as “Peter of Rome”. The Maya Calendar and the I Ching, both end exactly on December 21, 2012. The writing is on the wall. It is time to Pray!

Mayan Prophecy 2012: Entering Our Galactic Day
Source: www.december212012.com/articles/mayan/7.shtml
Many of us are aware of the Mayan calendar but not many people truly understand what it means and how it works. Yes the calendar does end on December 21, 2012, but what does that mean? How does it come to that? What is their calendar based off of?
The Mayans had a very precise understanding of our solar system’s cycles and believed that these cycles coincided with our spiritual and collective consciousness. The most significant of which has much to do with the 2012 prophecies. In the following writing, we will walk through the main details of their prophecies surrounding the 2012 transition. How the transition takes place (from an astronomical perspective), what it means for us, and when the cycles take place. We’ll start with the basic prophecies and later move deeper into the explanation of the cycles.
The Mayans prophesied that from 1999 we have 13 years to realize the changes in our conscious attitude to stray from the path of self-destruction and instead move onto a path that opens our consciousness to integrate us with all that exists.
The Mayans knew that our Sun, or Kinich-Ahau, every so often synchronized with the enormous central galaxy. And from this central galaxy received a ’spark’ of light which causes the Sun to shine more intensely producing what our scientists call ’solar flares’ as well as changes in the Sun’s magnetic field. The Mayans say that this happens every 5,125 years. But also that this causes a displacement in the earths rotation, and because of this movement great catastrophes would be produced.
The Mayans believed the universal processes, like the ‘breathing’ of the galaxy, are cycles that never change. What changes is the consciousness of man that passes through it. Always in a process toward more perfection. Based on their observations, the Mayans predicted that from the initial date of the start of their civilization, 4 Ahau, 8 Cumku which is 3113 B.C., after one cycle being completed 5,125 years in their future, December 21st, 2012. The Sun, having received a powerful ray of synchronizing light from the center of the galaxy, would change its polarity which would produce a great cosmic event that would propel human kind to be ready to cross into a new era, The Golden Age. It is after this, that the Mayans say we will be ready to go through the door that was left by them, transforming our civilization based on fear to a vibration much higher in harmony.
Only from our individual efforts could we avoid the path to great cataclysm that our planet will suffer to start a new era, the sixth cycle of the Sun. The Mayan civilization was in the fifth cycle of the Sun, and there were four other great civilizations before them that were destroyed by great natural disasters. They believed that each cycle was just one stage in the collective consciousness of humanity.
In the last cataclysm of the Mayans, the civilization was destroyed by a great flood that left little survivors of which were their descendants. They believed that having known the end of their cycle, mankind would prepare for what is to come in the future and it is because of this that they would have preserved the dominant species; the human race. They say that coming changes will permit us to make a quantum leap forward in the evolution of our consciousness to create a new civilization that would manifest great harmony and compassion to all humankind.
Their first prophecy talks about ‘The Time of No-Time’. A period of 20 years, which they call a Katún. The last 20 years of the Sun’s cycle of 5,125 years. This cycle is from 1992 – 2012. I’ll explain this in greater detail later. They predicted that during these times, solar winds would become more intense and could be seen on the Sun. This would be a time of great realization and great change for mankind. And it would be our own lack of preservation and contamination of the planet that would contribute to these changes. According to the Mayans, these changes would happen so that mankind comprehends how the universe works so we could advance to superior levels, leaving behind superficial materialism and liberating ourselves from suffering.
The Mayans say, that seven years after the start of Katún, which is to say 1999, we would enter a time of darkness which would force us to confront our own conduct. The say that this is the time when mankind will enter ‘The Sacred Hall of Mirrors’. Where we will look at ourselves and analyze our behaviors with ourselves, with others, with nature and with the planet in which we live. A time in which all of humanity, by individual conscious decisions, decides to change and eliminate fear and lack of respect from all of our relationships. The Mayans prophesied that the start of this period would be marked by a solar eclipse on August 11, 1999, known to them as 13 Ahau, 8 Cauac. And would coincide with an unprecedented planetary alignment, the ‘Grand Cross’ alignment. This would be the last 13 years of the Katón period. The last opportunity for our civilization to realize the changes that are coming at the moment of our spiritual regeneration.
For the Mayans, everything is numbers and the time of the 13 sacred numbers started in August 1999. They predicted that along with the eclipse, the forces of nature would act like a catalyst of changes so accelerated and with such magnitude that mankind would be powerless against them. Also, that our technologies in which we rely on so much would begin to fail us. We would no longer be able to learn from our civilization in the way that we are organized as a society. They said that our internal, spiritual development would require a better place along with a better way to interact with more respect and compassion.
The first prophecies were attained by their study of our Sun. The Mayans discovered that the entire solar system moved. That even our universe has its own cycles. Repetitive periods which begin and end like our day and night. These discoveries lead to the understanding that our solar system rotates on an ellipse that brings our solar system closer and further from the center of the galaxy. In other words, according to the Mayans, our Sun and all of its planets rotate in cycles in relation to the center of the galaxy or Hunab-Kú, the central light of the galaxy. It takes 25,625 years for our solar system to make one cycle on this ellipse. One complete cycle is called a galactic day. The cycle is divided into two halves similar to our day and night. The half closest to the central light, is our solar system’s ‘day’ and the half furthest away is its ‘night’. Each day and each night lasts 12,800 years. Which is to say, the central galaxy is the Sun for our entire solar system.
The Mayans discovered that every grand cycle has its minor cycles, that carry the same characteristics. One galactic day of 25,625 years is divided into five cycles of 5,125 years. The first cycle is the galactic morning. When our solar system is just coming out of the darkness to enter the light. The second cycle is the mid-day. When our solar system is closest to the central light. The third cycle is the afternoon. When our solar system begins to come out of the light. The fourth cycle is the late-night. When our solar system has entered its furthest cycle from the central light. And the fifth and last cycle is night before dawn. When are solar system is in its last cycle of darkness before starting again. This is the cycle we are currently coming out of.
The Mayan prophecy tells us that in 1999, our solar system began to leave the end of the fifth cycle which started in 3113 B.C. and that we find ourselves in the morning of our galactic day, exiting darkness and on the verge of being in plain day of our central galaxy in 2012. They say that at the beginning and end of these cycles, which is to say, every 5,125 years, the central sun or light of the galaxy emits a ray of light so intense and so brilliant that it illuminates the entire universe. It is from this burst of light that all of the Suns and planets sync. The Mayans compare this burst to the pulse of the universe, beating once every 5,125 years. It is these pulses that mark the end of one cycle and the beginning of the next. Each pulse lasting 20 years, a Katún.
So we come back to what they call ‘The Time of No Time’. It is an evolutionary period, short but intense, inside the grand cycles where great changes take place to thrust us into a new age of evolution as individuals and as mankind.
As individuals we will have to make decisions that will affect us all. If we continue on this negative path of hate, an eye for an eye, destruction of nature, of fear and egoism, we will enter straight into the time of destruction and chaos, and we will disappear as the dominant race of this planet. If we become conscious and realize that we all form part of a great organism, and that we should respect one another and be grateful to our planet, then we will move directly into positive growth, our Golden Age. Our planet, the Sun and the Galaxy are awaiting our decision. It is up to us what will happen in this time of change. Whether we go through a time of suffering and destruction or we find ourselves united in one positive consciousness moving closer to our next stage.
Please notice the events of our planet as evidence that the Mayan prophecies are worth listening to and learning from. Share this information and help us all move toward a better future, where we can thrive in a new era of positivity. It has never been so important.
Mayan Inca Zztec Egyptian Prophecy 2012
I came across this 4 part video series of the Mayan Inca Aztec Egyptian Prophecy of 2012. It seems that no matter if the prediction is 5 years old, 500 years old, or 5000 years old, they all point to the same date, December of 2012.

Maya Calender Ends 2012
The Maya Calendar ends at 11:11 GMT on December 21, 2012. This is a fact. It is the last of the five cycles. The end of each of the first four cycles were devastating to the earth, causing extinctions of many species at each event. The end of the last cycle will be the worst by far. So now is a time for Prayer. Start now, so God will have mercy on you in these coming end of days. Read this article by Stephen Yulish regarding end of the Maya calendar December 21, 2012. More proof of devastating earth changes to come.
Will The Earth Burn Up In 2012?
by Stephen Yulish PhD

There has been much talk of late about the supposed doomsday prediction of December 21, 2012 as reflected in the Mayan long calendar. Most of the ancient Mayan codices were burned by Spanish monks in 1521 as works of the devil. A few survived including the so called Dresden Codex. This 74 page codex written on tree bark and apparently from the famous Mayan temple and observatory at Chichen Itza was sent by Cortes to Emperor Charles V in 1519. Somehow it found its way to the Royal Library at the Court of Saxony in Dresden where it was purchased from a private collector by Johann Christian Goetze. While it was damaged by the fire bombing of Dresden during WWII, much has survived.
From this work, which was written between 1200 and 1250 AD, numerous astronomical and calendar data points were found including information on eclipses, the transit of the planet Venus as well as information on the motion of the moon, stars and the sun. It has been determined by research scholars that the Mayan long count calendar ends on 13.0.0.0.0 which equates to our date of December 21, 2012 at 10AM GMT. On that day it has been surmised the end will come.

According to my research, many have tried to tie this upcoming apocalyptic winter solstice day with a solar shift, solar storms, and a transit of Venus as well as with severe earthquakes. Is there any truth to these allegations? According to some astronomers, on this day our solar system will intersect with the Galactic Equator which only happens every 26,000 years. Since the Mayan calendar began in 3114 BC, they had never experienced anything like this before. The Mayans called this event the Sacred Tree. This alignment with the center of the galaxy also allows for maximum mass and thus maximum gravity.
According to the National Earthquake Information Service of the US Geological Survey, earthquakes have gradually increased from 1 severe quake between 1890 and 1899 to 765 from 2000-2004. Could this be due to our solar systems movement towards this Galactic Equator?
NASA predicts that a terrific solar storm will hit the earth in 2012 which will be 30-50 percent greater than anything before it. I believe that there has been global warming over the past decades but it is related to sunspot activity on the sun not carbon dioxide emissions. The sun has gotten hotter and that has affected the earth. A massive solar blast from the sun in 2012 could burn up the earth as could a collision with an asteroid or a comet.
There has even been talk of a polar shift which could disrupt the functioning of the entire earth and could change the axis of rotation. Such a shift has taken place in our geologic past and could happen again. If it happened on December, 21, 2012, it would truly be a day to remember.
This apocalyptic date of December 21, 2012 is also supposedly found in Hopi myths, the I-Ching, Aztec writings, Egyptian hieroglyphs, Roman Oracles, writing of Seneca Elders, the chief Shaman of the Cherokee Tribe in NC, and even the writings of Nostradamus, The Russian mathematician Sergey Smelyakov of Khartov University taking the constant Phi (1.6180339), the so called Golden Mean or the Fibonacci sequence, and applying it to solar activity and planetary orbits, found that everything seemed to spiral in on itself on December 21, 2012 implying a time implosion or point of bifurcation.
The planet Venus is set to make a transit across the face of the sun on December 21, 2012 which happens very infrequently. It did happen recently, however, on June 8, 2004 which means it will happen again in eight years which is very unusual but predicted by the Mayans.
I cannot tell you for certain that the earth will be consumed by fire in 2012 or that there will be a polar shift or severe earthquakes, but I can tell you with certainty that one day in the not too distant future it will be consumed by fire and experience a polar shift and severe earthquakes. I can say that because the word of God says so and it did beginning over 2700 years ago, long before the Mayans or the Aztecs or the Hopi or the Seneca or the I-Ching or Nostradamus.
Once before because of its sin the earth was destroyed by water in the Great Flood of Noah’s day but the Bible says that the world will be destroyed again, this time by fire.
“The present heavens and earth, by His word, are being reserved for fire, kept for the Day of Judgment and the destruction of ungodly men” (2Peter 3:7).
“But the day of the Lord will come like a thief in which the heavens will pass away with a roar and the elements will be destroyed with intense heat and the earth and its works will be burned up” (2Peter 3:10).
“The sun scorched men with fire” (Revelation 16:8).
“A third of the earth was burned up and a third of the trees were burned up and all the green grass was burned up. A great mountain (asteroid?) burning with fire was thrown into the sea and a third of the sea became blood and a third of the creatures which were in the sea and had life died and a third of the ships were destroyed. And a great star (comet?) fell from heaven burning like a torch and it fell on a third of the rivers and springs of water (Revelation 8:7-11).
“The inhabitants of the earth are burned and few men are left” (Isaiah 24:6).
“The hills melt and the earth is burned up” (Nahum 1:5).
Once again, many have associated December 21, 2012 with a shift in the poles as well as signs in the sky. What does the Bible tell us about these events?
“The stars will fall from the sky” (Matthew 24:29).
If the earth shifts on its axis and we are thrown around, the stars will appear to fall but it will actually be us that are moving.
“The earth is broken asunder. The earth is split through. The earth is shaken violently. Thee earth reels to and fro like a drunkard and it totters like a shack “(Isaiah 24:19-20).
Once again a shift in the polar axis might tear the earth apart.
“There will be great earthquakes. The sun became black like sackcloth; the moon became like blood. The stars of the sky fell to the earth… The sky split apart like a scroll when it is rolled up.every mountain and island moved out of their place’ (Revelation 6:12-14).
More shaking of the earth.
“There will be great earthquakes and in various places plagues and famines and there will be terrors and great signs from heaven. There will be signs in the sun and the moon and stars and upon the earth great dismay among nations in perplexity at the roaring of the sea and the waves. Men fainting from fear as the powers of heaven will be shaken” (Luke 21:9, 25-26).
Here we see the Bible tell us about signs in the heavens spoken of in relation to December 21, 2012. But what do we do when we see these things happening?
“When you see these things happening, recognize that the kingdom of God is near. Truly I say to you that this generation will not pass away until all things take place. But when these things begin to take place straighten up and lift up your heads because your redemption is drawing near” (Luke 21:31,32, 28).
God assures us that:
“Heaven and earth will pass away but My words shall not pass away” (Matthew 24:35).
Some people ask why God takes so long to punish the ungodly:
“The Lord is not slow about His promise as some count slowness but is patient toward you not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance (2Peter 3:9).
Remember this as the end fast approaches.
